Small Vintage Silver Plate Sugar Sifter

This vintage Silver Plate Sugar Sifter is beautifully crafted and delicate in proportion with its pierced pattern and beaded handle.

Sugar sifter spoons were developed in the mid-18th century and are similar in form and size to sauce ladles, but with flattened bowl bases. The bowls were decorated with elaborate pierced patterns.

This particular sifter shows a little sign of age with its darker patches of tarnish on the bowl itself. This most certainly adds to it's charm.

I would not be able to personalise much on this piece due to the flat space available.
