Handcrafted Sterling Silver Antique Spoon Ring

This elegant ring is meticulously crafted from a repurposed sterling silver spoon, originally hallmarked by the Sheffield Assay Office in 1936. Weighing 4.56 grams, the piece retains its original hallmark, preserving its historical authenticity. It has been legally transformed into a unique item of jewellery in accordance with the Hallmarking Act of 1973. Each ring is accompanied by an official certificate of conversion and a unique reference number, ensuring its provenance and compliance.

This ring features a 9ct yellow gold set Ruby.

Ruby is the red variety of the mineral corundum, easily identifiable by its deep crimson colours, caused by the presence of chromium in the corundum.

Varying from transparent to fully opaque in clarity, rubies can often contain needle like inclusions, and are usually heat treated to improve the overall colour and clarity of the stone.

The birthstone for july, ruby has generally been known as the stone of passion and protection and is excellent for balancing emotions and encouraging courage and motivation.

This round faceted ruby measures 3mm.

Ruby has a hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale and a specific gravity of 4.00.

Please note that due to the nature of the stone, each stone is unique so colours will vary and natural inclusions and zoning may be present.

Care: As with all gemstones, care must be taken. It is not advised to place ruby stones in an ultrasonic, steam cleaner or chemical cleaning solution. Ruby can be easily cleaned with a warm soapy water mix or an untreated cloth.

This is a unique piece one size. This is adjustable but please message to have adjusted to fit prior to posting.
