Handcrafted Sterling Silver Antique Spoon Ring
This elegant ring is meticulously crafted from a repurposed sterling silver spoon, originally hallmarked by the Sheffield Assay Office in 1918. Weighing 2.94 grams, the piece retains its original hallmark, preserving its historical authenticity. It has been legally transformed into a unique item of jewellery in accordance with the Hallmarking Act of 1973. Each ring is accompanied by an official certificate of conversion and a unique reference number, ensuring its provenance and compliance.
This ring includes a Yellow Sapphire set in a 9ct yellow gold collet setting.
Sapphire is a variety of the mineral corundum. These yellow sapphires display a vivid yellow tone created using a beryllium treatment. This involves beryllium with blue or yellow-green corundum heated to high temperatures over an extended period of time.
The birthstone for september, sapphire has generally been known as the stone of wisdom and is excellent for restoring balance and bringing serenity and calm whilst yellow sapphire is associated with wealth and prosperity.
This round faceted sapphire measures 5mm.
Sapphire has a hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale and a specific gravity of 4.00.
Please note that due to the nature of the stone, each stone is unique so colours will vary and natural inclusions and zoning may be present.
Care: As with all gemstones, care must be taken. It is not advised to place sapphire stones in an ultrasonic, steam cleaner or chemical cleaning solution. Sapphire can be easily cleaned with a warm soapy water mix or an untreated cloth.
It is advised to avoid exposing sapphire to prolonged periods of heat and light.
This is a unique piece one size. This is adjustable but please message to have adjusted to fit prior to posting.
