Keep a loved one close by capturing their paw print or puppy nose print in fine silver, creating a piece as unique as they are. Each charm is one of a kind, just like the print it holds.
This is the first kit to be released from the Brown Spotty Dog at-home jewellery kit collection. The Imprint Pendant Kit is baby and pet safe and has been designed to create a personalised pendant in .999 fine silver. This handmade pendant will be an exact replica of the imprint design you return to me, finished by myself and supplied on an 18" sterling silver chain. Your design will be completely unique and a true collaboration between ourselves.

My kit offers a hands-on experience, providing all the tools and guidance needed to create a meaningful piece of jewellery at home. Capture either a fingerprint or your pet's print, and send it back to me to be transformed into a cherished keepsake.

Baby safe (some babies have very faint fingerprints as they have not yet fully formed, so please check fingerprint visibility before purchasing).

Every print is different, and the final result depends on the quality of the initial impression you take. I provide two sets of compound in each kit, allowing you to take three imprints. I will then select the best one to create your final piece. I use silver clay to create these necklaces and, as such, the shape of the pendant may move organically during firing. This is part of its character and can be seen in the images below.

Small Square charms measure roughly 13mm x 13mm x 1.3mm deep, and is best with one single initial or the imprint alone. This can be seen in the 'F' imprint photo.

Small round charms measure about 16mm round and are 1.2mm deep. These work best without a name, with a small name or a single initial letter. You can see an example of this in the 'Otis' photo.

Medium oval charms are around 18mm x 24mm, 1.4mm deep, and can be engraved with up to 6 letters on the front, depending on imprint size and letter width. You can see an example of this on the 'Dougal' photo.

Your necklace comes with a 18" length silver chain.

Once you order, you will receive your Imprint Kit within 2-4 working days.

The Journey of Your Bespoke Silver Keepsake

Each piece begins with the precious impression you have created, capturing a unique moment in time. Once your imprint has been returned to my workshop, I carefully assess its quality and detail before beginning the crafting process by hand.

Using your original impression, I create a reverse mould, which is then left to cure naturally for 24–48 hours to ensure every detail is preserved. Once ready, this mould is used to form your piece in precious silver clay. At this stage, I handcraft any accompanying components, such as jump rings or fittings, before carefully refining, shaping, and sizing the clay. The piece is then left to dry thoroughly for a further 24–48 hours.

After drying, I meticulously refine the surface once more, smoothing and perfecting every detail before the piece is fired in my kiln. During firing, the binder burns away, leaving behind solid fine silver and revealing the beautiful impression captured within.

The creation process is intentionally slow and considered, allowing each stage to be completed with the care it deserves. Once firing is complete, the piece undergoes an extensive finishing process, including multiple stages of hand polishing to bring out the natural beauty and lustre of the silver.

Finally, the jewellery is assembled, paired with its chain or findings where applicable, and thoughtfully packaged before making its journey back to you.

From the moment your imprint arrives with me at the workshop, each piece typically undergoes three to four weeks of careful craftsmanship, ensuring a truly personal heirloom that can be treasured for years to come. In warmer weather, natural drying times may be reduced slightly, which can help shorten production times without compromising quality.

Your final piece will be returned to you in a beautiful presentation box, ready to gift or treasure for yourself.

Care information

The First Rule of Silver Care is that Sterling silver tarnishes, especially when exposed to salt air and products containing sulfur, such as rubber bands and some papers. However, silver that is regularly used typically needs less care, so we strongly encourage you to wear your silver every day.

We also recommend using a small amount of town talk silver jewellery cleaner on a soft cloth, gently rub the silver several times. Then rinse the silver thoroughly in warm water and carefully dry. This will remove the tarnish and dullness, keeping your sterling silver beautiful. Please note: chlorine and bleach accelerate tarnishing and should be avoided.
